Women’s Wellbeing Wednesday
Walk-Talk-Grow – is a walking and horticultural nature therapy project helping to improve the health and well-being of those who participate. Using urban well-being walks and practice ‘flowery fun’ therapeutic horticulture, the project aims to increase participants’ activity levels, alleviate feelings of social isolation while increasing connections with nature.
Run throughout the year on a 6-week recurring cycle, walks start and end at the Flower Patch site. Our aim for the project is for participants to have access to a friendly short group walk, within easy reach of where they live, to help them keep active while increasing connections with nature.
Each walk takes from 60 – 90 mins, refreshment/comfort break, once back on the Flower Patch we get involved in a light horticultural task, nature-based craft or simply some flowery fun, while chatting to like-minded women and enjoying the peace and tranquillity of our beautiful setting.
‘Pay it Forward’ each session is funded through the sale of flowers. Open to all Adults 18yrs plus, sessions include refreshments, and all equipment will be provided. All participants will be required to register with us and then pull on a pair of trainers or walking shoes.

When you support the Flower Patch by volunteering, attending sessions or buying our seasonal British flowers you are not only supporting your own wellbeing you are also supporting others via ‘Pay it Forward’ to access activities that support their wellbeing too.
All our sessions are accessible to everyone regardless of financial status. Thanks to grant funding, flower sales, paid for events, and donations, our supporters are enabling us to offer our sessions fully funded to support those that need it most and may not be able to access much needed wellbeing activities.
Using social and therapeutic horticultural practice along with wellbeing activities we invite anyone suffering from the pressures of the modern world or feelings of stress and anxiety to get involved.
We can supply flowers for a whole range of occassions. From DIY buckets of flowers to fully arranged wedding and everyday bouquets, sympathy flowers or seasonal wreaths.
The Flower Patch supply cut flowers with the emphasis being that everything produced is nurtured by local people who are supported to grow and flourish themselves. Volunteering, work experience, short courses or workshops all designed to improve their physical health, mental health and well-being while developing employability skills allowing everyone to aspire to a brighter future.
